Learning about Temples
The temple as a place of worship is important for all
Saivites. It is a place full of symbolic elements that makes visible the concealed world
of the gods. Frequent visits to a temple is a must for all Saivite. Below we describe a
visit to temples organized by Malaysia Saiva Council recently.
 |
Here Dr.K.Loganathan is pointing out to the 'Nalvar' the
great four saints and explain briefly why they are installed in the Shivan Temple of
Penang, Malaysia. |
This photograph shows all the members of the group that
visited the temples. They were strongly advised to wear the traditional dress. In addition
to more than 100 children their parents were also invited to come along. |

This photo shows a group of young
ladies with the religious class teacher Suba. Please note the dress these young women wear
which are saree and 'pavadai' with 'thavani'. They were thrilled to wear them because they
looked very graceful. Back to Main Page |
